Experienced UX researcher and strategist providing insights to management on the future needs of users.

About Me

As the baseball manager Yogi Berra once said “predictions are hard, particularly when you’re talking about the future”. They are harder still when multimillion-dollar investment decisions hang in the balance, or when your predicted future state of the market or of user needs runs contrary to current user practices or commonly held beliefs about the business. But that’s where I’ve spent the majority of my career as a researcher…understanding the evolution of human needs and how that will intersect both user requirements and the future state of the market.

For many years I’ve worked as a User Experience Researcher, UX Strategist, and Research Manager at the semiconductor company Intel Corporation. For most of that time we were near the center of innovation for the PC, mobile and cloud computing markets, and I was fortunate enough to be part of teams tasked to help our execs stay ahead of a number of industry transitions. As a researcher this forced me and my team to be creative methodologically to project future needs and requirements, and I hope you will recognize this in my work examples below.
